Restrict Alias Value Visibility for READ_ONLY Users in Gateway CLD and ONP Instances

Hello IBM team,

I am Mehdi ASSABBANE, Développeur Solution & Intégration API and admin of webmethods at MOBILIZE-FS (france)
We’ve recently activated Teamwork in Gateway CLD and ONP instances to manage access via groups. As part of this, we created a group named ViewAllAssets with the READ_ONLY privilege for APIs.

However, we identified a security issue:
Users with READ_ONLY access are currently able to view the actual values of alias variables, including sensitive data such as API keys and credentials used for local integrations on the gateway. This behavior is unexpected and concerning, as READ_ONLY access should not expose secret values or credentials.

Expected behavior:
READ_ONLY users should only see alias names or masked values, not the actual secret values.

This is a request from our internal security team and aligns with best practices for protecting sensitive information.

Could you please treat this as a security vulnerability and provide guidance or implement a solution to restrict alias value visibility for READ_ONLY users?

Kind regards,
Mehdi ASSABBANE
