Request to Include Client ID in App Approval Notification – API Connect Developer Portal

Hi IBM Support,

When our customers create applications in the API Connect Developer Portal, the business team receives an approval request notification. However, the notification does not currently include the Client ID of the application.

This creates operational challenges because:
- The business must reach out to customers separately to request the Client ID.
- Multiple apps can be created with the same name, which makes mapping to the correct customer difficult without the Client ID.

We have followed the instructions here to update the app-lifecycle-request template from IBM API Connect Cloud Manager: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/api-connect/10.0.x_cd?topic=access-configuring-notifications

apic-slim notification-templates:get app-lifecycle-request --server ***** --scope org --org *** --catalog *** --subcollection consumer --fields variables --output -

Currently, the only variables available for notifications are:
variables:
- org
- catalog
- activationLink
- expiresAt
- originator
- originatorFirstName
- originatorLastName
- originatorEmail
- username
- email
- firstName
- lastName

The Client ID for the associated app is missing from the available variable list.

I was requested to raise this from TS020075348

br,

Harrison
