Enable Wiki-Style Documentation for API Publishers in IBM API Connect

Feature Request: Wiki Functionality in IBM API Connect

Title: Enable Wiki-Style Documentation for API Publishers in IBM API Connect

Description:
Currently, IBM API Connect provides capabilities for publishing APIs and associated documentation. However, the documentation options are limited in terms of advanced formatting and collaborative content creation. To enhance the developer experience and improve knowledge sharing, we propose adding Wiki functionality within the API Connect portal.

Proposed Feature:
Introduce a Wiki module in IBM API Connect that allows API publishers and contributors to create and maintain supportive documentation with rich formatting options. This feature should include:

  • Advanced Formatting Support:

  • Tables for structured data representation

  • Embedded images and diagrams for visual clarity

  • Hyperlinks for cross-referencing related APIs or external resources

  • Code blocks with syntax highlighting for examples

  • Collaborative Editing:

  • Multi-user editing with version control

  • Change history and rollback options

  • Integration Points:

  • Link wiki pages directly to specific APIs or products

  • Searchable content within the developer portal

  • Access Control:

  • Role-based permissions for creating, editing, and viewing wiki content

Business Value:

  • Improves developer onboarding and API adoption by providing comprehensive, well-formatted documentation.

  • Reduces reliance on external tools for documentation, keeping all resources centralised within API Connect.

  • Enhances collaboration among API publishers and technical writers.
