One DNS Shared by multiple IWHI APIC SaaS Instances in different regions

We would like to know whether it is possible to have one common DNS name for multiple private connections in multiple regions with IWHI APIC SaaS.

APIC SaaS has no native support for multi-region failover. With IWHI APIC SaaS, different instances can be setup for different regions, but they all have different gateway URLs. When private connections are created, its private DNS name is fixed, not customizable.

We are looking for multi-region failover support, i.e, when one region fails, the service can be switched over to another region quickly with minimum impact. The consumer applications should still use the same DNS for the service of the other region.

Is it possible that a common DNS can be setup which is aliased to the IWHI private connection “api-1” endpoint in ca-central-1, then when fail-over is needed, the DNS name is updated to be alias to “api-2” endpoint in “us-east-1”?

It uses private connections since it is mostly needed. It would be good to have this capability for public connection (the default endpoint created with the instance) too.

In discussion with IBM, it was mentioned that “A lot of the setup is dependent on SNI so I don’t think we could support this today with just CNAMEs - it’d likely need a change in how our routing is done to be able to support this. “ It looks like its tied to the certificate, server profile, key store, SNI and more which SaaS don’t expose same control as the on-prem APIC.

Will IBM provide support for this feature? Could it be a customized operation support?

Using Remote Gateway could be one option, but we want to explore the full SaaS managed env and gateways first. Thanks
