Support subscription control through Application enable/disable status in DataPower Nano Gateway

We request that DataPower Nano Gateway support controlling API subscriptions based on the Application status in API Connect.

When an Application status is changed to Disabled, all API subscriptions associated with that Application should be suspended immediately. API requests using the Application's Client ID or credentials should be rejected by DataPower Nano Gateway.

When the Application status is changed back to Enabled, the existing subscriptions should become active again without requiring users to recreate the Application or subscriptions.

Expected behavior

  • When an Application is disabled, all subscriptions associated with the Application are suspended.
  • API requests using the disabled Application's credentials are rejected.
  • When the Application is re-enabled, the existing subscriptions and credentials become usable again.
  • The behavior is applied consistently across DataPower API Gateway and DataPower Nano Gateway.

Business impact
Application status management is required to centrally and immediately control API access in situations such as:

  • Temporary service suspension
  • Security incidents or credential exposure
  • Application maintenance
  • Contract expiration
  • Operational access control

Without this capability, administrators must manually delete subscriptions, revoke credentials, or modify API configurations to prevent access. This increases administrative effort and may create a security risk.
