We would like to be able to mount the ISO file within the Linux OS after installation of the OVA file for API manager, devportal and analytics server Merged

We are unable to leave the iso file attached permanently as a CDROM after installation within VMWare. VMWare does not support CD/Rom based .iso mounts cross cluster and this will cause production impact with the current solution. Additionally, there are known issues with mounted .iso files during firmware, vmware tools, and esxi patching cycles.

    We are accepting an enhancement to not require ISO image mounts as CD/ROMs indefinitely. Currently you are mounting the ISO as a read only file system within the VM, which is what is being asked for in the title, but after reading the description it's clear what is asked for is to not require these file system mounts after initial installation. The implementation will remove the dependency to have the ISO mounted for reboots. The first deploy/boot will require the ISO mount which will then make the iso content available on disk. This will support use cases around on-going maintenance, including less risk during reboots (where ISO may have been unmounted) and use of VMotion for availability during VMware patch/upgrade cycles. You can subscribe to and follow Idea 96 which, when ready, will deliver this enhancement.
