MQ certificate expiry as a channel parameter Merged

I had raised this RFE (https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/rfe/execute?use_case=viewRfe&CR_ID=115972) 5 years ago and it was later tagged as a duplicate of this which was later DECLINED: https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/rfe/execute?use_case=viewRfe&CR_ID=141427

We still see the value in this, so raising it again.

It would be great if MQ supported a means to check the expiry of the certificate through a channel (SDR, RCVR, SVRCONN, REQUESTOR, CLUSTER SENDER, CLUSTER RECEIVER, etc) parameter while the channel is in the running state. The benefits would be easier monitoring of certificate expiry, stop relying on third party tools, prevent manual tracking of certificate expiry, better life-cycle management of certificates.

We have internal systems and remote QMGRs that connect to our QMGRs on the cloud pak for integration using TLS. As the number of channels go up, the more difficult it gets to keep track of certificate expiry, not to mention the difficulty in maintaining the life cycle of it such as during certificate renewals. This channel parameter can be monitored using SNMP traps or by monitoring tools such as Instana (may be) that run PCF commands or by other means to fire an alert for action.

HI Abu, Thanks for raising this - I'm moving it to the MQ list so that the MQ team has visibility of it. I've also let Martin Evans from the MQ team know that it's coming.
