This is an IBM Automation portal for Integration products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

Now that we are adding support to Topics in the Canvas we need to be able to interact with those resources not only directly from a Kafka Cluster, but also from an EEM Catalog to support IBM's PoV in Event Automation.
The idea is to add the EEM Gateway as a resource in the Canvas that can be added to the solution and when another solution like ACE needs to interact with a topic to either consume or produce it should be able to use the EEM Gateway or Kafka directly to give the user the option to sellect whatever makes sense to them and aligns with their strategy.

As a first pass, we could also surface EEM connection/information for topics in the platform experience. For example, for a given topic we can have an extra icon/button/menu item in the table that shows it's managed by EEM and what the EEM connection details are.
Once the platform is aware of the EEM role in managing a topic, we can then further enhance the Ace to EEM experience. This allows for an iterative approach, focusing on the EEM to platform integration first.
