It was possible to exploit a vulnerability in the configuration of the XML processor to define an entity that referenced other entities. If defined recursively then the XML parser will consume exponentially increasing amounts of memory and processor time.
DataPower XML Parser Expands the Entity Reference
External Entity Reference is already forbidden on DataPower’s XML manager by Default.
Also as part of XML Threat Protection of the MPGW Service , the recursive Entity Reference Protection is Enabled.
There is a Check on the OverAll Parser Limit Size of 4194304 bytes ¬ 4MB
Can an enhancement be made at DataPower XML Parser level which doesnt expand the Internal Entity References in the XML Request
