Converting OpenApi to JSON Schema Support Merged

The DataPower supports the use and parsing of JSON messages. These JSON messages can be subjected to native format validation by setting the Request and/or Response type to JSON.

In this case, the DataPower also supports the use of JSON schemas for validating the content of the messages.

These JSON schemas cannot be generated by the DataPower itself from a SWAGGER/OpenApi file. One should receive this or perform a conversion of the SWAGGER/OpenApi document itself.

Then one would also need to map these correctly to the available resources that can be used by a client. The mapping is also a manual action that you must perform yourself within an MPGW.

The above ensures that it is effectively not possible to offer message validation for JSON messages in a "simple" way to our clients.

IBM API Connect does have the above option. API Connect builds the whole service for you and supports the use of OpenAPI documents to build these services.

What we like to see implemented is the following;

We would like support for using OpenAPI documents as input for JSON Schema validation in IBM DataPower Gateway.
With the above implemented, the DataPower Gateway will be able to unpack the OpenAPI document(s) and that means that we don't have to specify each path and method combination by hand.
