Thank you for the update. Will syslog function be considered? Adding syslog would allow for an automated feed into storage mechanisms (like InfluxDB) which can then be analyzed by interfaces (like Grafana) which opens the door to inteligent alerting mechanisms and better security postures. Offloading a file is nice, and would omit a step we have inplace today to retrieve the audit file, but we still have to have a program to parse the offloaded file ans stitch it together. Real time feed is what is needed for security control.
In DataPower 10.6.3, we added support to upload audit log files to a remote server. When you modify the audit log settings, you can change the archival behavior from rotate to upload. When upload is the archive mode, you define whether to upload audit log files to a remote FTP or SFTP server. For more information, see Defining settings for the audit log.
Offloading can currently be achieved with SOMA request/CLI(https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/copying-audit-log-datapower) and syslog mechanism is not under consideration at this time. We will continue to monitor voting for this idea with the potential to reconsider in the future.
