TypeScript Node.js to develop and unit test (possibly using jest) project and build zip file for Import Configuration

We are currently developing a DataPower project which contains a configuration export.xml file and numerous Gateway scripts in the local filestore. We manually zip the source code and import it into DataPower for integration testing. We do not do any unit testing locally on the Gateway scripts as there is nothing available.

Gateway script is a flavour of JavaScript, and the proposal is to leverage TypeScript Node.js to develop, unit test and build the project. The simplest approach would be to write wrappers that in the background run Node.js libraries and mock the Gateway script libraries for development and unit testing purposes.
