Enhancement Request for Supported ILMT Integration with DataPower Operations Dashboard (DPOD)

We recently installed DPOD v1.0.23.2 on a GCVe server for a project-specific requirement. During our compliance validation, the Security team attempted to use IBM License Metric Tool (ILMT) to perform a scan; however, no IBM software components were detected in the scan results.

We raised IBM case TS022308497 to seek clarification on the following:

  • Confirm the supported integration mechanism between ILMT and DPOD

  • Validate whether the current DPOD version is included in the ILMT software catalog

  • Advise on any required configuration, exclusions, or agent setup for accurate detection

  • Clarify the expected ILMT scan behavior for a DPOD environment

IBM Support confirmed that DPOD currently does not provide integration with ILMT for reporting or collecting license usage information. We were advised to submit an RFE for this capability to be considered in a future release.

Enhancement Request

We request IBM to:

  • Include DPOD support in ILMT reporting

  • Enable automatic detection and license usage tracking for DPOD deployments

  • Provide clear documentation and guidance on ILMT compatibility with DPOD

Business Justification

The absence of ILMT integration for DPOD creates challenges in:

  • Ensuring license compliance and audit readiness

  • Accurately tracking IBM software usage

  • Reducing manual effort and dependency on support for clarification

Please consider this as a formal request to enhance DPOD by enabling ILMT integration.
