Declarative EEM API - i.e CRs to create published topics etc

EEM has a REST based API today, which can be used to create, update, publish and unpublish Kafka topics. A logical extension to this (and a better fit for CI/CD/GitOps style adoption) would be to offer a declarative approach (using k8s custom resources for instance) where a topic description (for example) could be checked into Git, applied on a cluster, and the operator reconcile and create the required EEM objects automatically.

 

Event Streams already has a similar capability for Kafka topics and users via the Entity Operator.
