Enable Dynatrace monitoring for webMethods Trading Networks Processing Rule services

IBM webMethods Integration Server services invoked through web services, JMS listeners, and scheduled tasks are correctly captured and monitored by Dynatrace. However, services executed from Trading Networks (TN) Processing Rules are currently classified as background activities and are not included in end-to-end transaction monitoring.

This creates an observability gap for organizations that rely on Trading Networks for critical B2B integrations. Many business transactions are initiated and processed through TN Processing Rules, making it difficult to:

  • Trace complete business transaction flows.
  • Measure performance and response times of TN-driven processing.
  • Identify bottlenecks and failures in B2B integrations.
  • Correlate TN processing with downstream application and infrastructure monitoring.

Requested enhancement

Provide native support for Dynatrace monitoring and transaction tracing of services invoked through Trading Networks Processing Rules, with the same level of visibility available for services triggered through web services, JMS listeners, and scheduler executions.

Business value

  • Complete end-to-end observability of webMethods environments.
  • Improved troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
  • Better operational monitoring of B2B integrations.
  • Consistent application performance management across all Integration Server execution paths.
  • Enhanced value of both IBM webMethods and Dynatrace investments.

This enhancement would close an important monitoring gap and help customers achieve full visibility of business transactions processed through Trading Networks.
