Unlock resume button on VM Manager panel

Hello,


In the "Management: VM Managers", when the "Oparation Status" is not OK but different from "Invalid credentials - suspended", we can't use the "Resume" button.


Sometime the connection fails due to a network problem or other reason.

To restart the data collection, we must modify the URL, validate, then modify again to give the correct URL.


Whereas if the button was available, we would only have to click on it and save time.


Can you enable this "Resume" button for other "Operation status" like "Connection failed" ?

The button already exists, the modification could be quick to make.

    Hello,

    I agree with you suggestion to modify the status in "Pending" after a successful test.

    For the moment we have the impression that the collection will not be done because of the status which does not pass in "Pending".

    Your solution will fix this issue.

    Hello, thank you for suggesting the improvement!

    I'd like to explain how this functionality works today, propose improvement and aks if this will help in using the tool.


    How it works:

    • Resume button is needed only for VM Manager connection which was paused by us after set of connection failures dues to incorrect credentials. In such case we stop trying, credentials need to be updated and 'Resume' button used to inform LMT that connections should again be started (resumed ;)

    • For any other failures (other than incorrect credentials) resuming is not needed as the next data collection attempt will automatically be done in up to 30 minutes.

    • The connection status does not change immediately, but after VM Manager data colelction during daily data import. Until then, even if the parameters of connection are proper, the status will not be modified.

    • There is a 'Test connection' button which can be used to verify the connection. It works immediately (up to few minutes). If it test is cuccessful, there is reason to expect that next data collection will also be successful.

    The improvement which we would like to propose is to change the status to 'Pending' (for any failure type) after successful test of the connection. This was the error will be gone right after the test and status will indicate the most accurate information - which is no longer failure since connection was positively tested.

    Please let us know if the above improvement would be helpful or not necessarily.

    Also, in case of any other suggestions - please write as well.
