We would like it when the "Azure Stack HCI" Virtualization technology would be integrated into the ILMT Tool.
Currently we do not see any possibility to integrate this new kind of hypervizor into ILMT using the ILMT VMM Tool.
Since we are planning to migrate from Hyper-V to "Azure Stack HCI" (installed on-premise not in the cloud) we dont't seem to have the possibility to use Subcapacity Licensing for IBM Software running in VMs getting operated on top of "Azure Stack HCI".
Here I described more in detail (Support Case TS010726666)
Hello Andrei,
I could not find any information to the virtualization technology "Azure Stack HCI" following the links you have provided.
We use Hyper-V currently and want to migrate to Azure Stack HCI.
Under Hyper-V we have the following situation regarding the ILMt components:
BigFix Agent for Windows installed on the Hyper-V Host (Windows Server 2016, 2019 etc..)
BigFix Agent for Windows installed on each virtual Windows Server running on the Hyper-V Host
Configured ILMT VMM Tool connection to the Hyper-V Host (to get physical processor information)
So can you confirm us that following is true
There is no BigFix Agent for the new OS "Azure Stack HCI" installed on the physical virtualization host
The BigFix Agent for Windows can/must be further installed on each virtual Windows Server running on the "Azure Stack HCI" Host
There is no ILMT VMM Tool connection supported to "Azure Stack HCI" Host.
We can not use Subcapacity Licencing under "Azure Stack HCI"
Regards
Yusuf
