We need GFPS to be supported in IBM License Metric Tool (ILMT).

We need to be able to Initiate Software Scan on Shared Disks and  scan for IBM Licensed software on GPFS disks on servers.

We use GPFS extensively in our environment and allowing ILMT to scan GPFS would save plenty of manual work keeping track of licenses.

    Hello,

our scanner at the moment is able to scan GPFS file system as remote one.

So, the fully automated discovery and scanning of GPFS file system at the moment will not work, however, configuring scanners with GPFS file systems to scan both local and remote drives should be able to discover IBM software installed on GPFS file systems.

If you'd like to test the above approach, please contact me directly at Tomasz.Stopa@pl.ibm.com and we'll provide necessary configuration steps. Once the approach is validated, we will officially add GPFS to supported file systems to be scanned in this specific way.
