MQ Seamless Support for Oracle Java TLS/SSL

Many Application Clients utilize Oracle Java when connecting to MQ. Configuring TLS/SSL connections when the MQ Client is using Oracle Java is not a painless experience for customers.

An iFix is currently required in some cases and an environment variable needs to be set by the Application Client in order to use different Cipher Suite mappings.

In addition we have just found another bug whereby Ciphers TLS_RSA_WITH_AES_128_CBC_SHA256 and TLS_RSA_WITH_AES_256_CBC_SHA256 result in a handshake failure with Oracle Java 7 rendering them unusable. This is a likely an Oracle Java 7 bug.

From a customers perspective we are looking for a seamless approach to TLS support and configuration within MQ for Clients using both IBM Java and Oracle Java.

There are a number of issues around commonality of TLS configurations in different JREs or JSSE implementations. Only some of this is due to the actual name used for a ciphersuite. We would like to solve these issues going forward, but it will require more than just a simple name mapping between different algorithm names.
