DRBD - TCP Encryption

DRBD as supplied with MQ 9 does not offer the capability of encrypting replicated block data across TCP between nodes.

DRBD should offer this capability out of the box rather than solutions engineered on top.

Have you looked at implementing 'stunnel' (https://www.stunnel.org/) amongst 3 of the hosts used for RDQM ?? 'Encryption in Transit' for DRBD is mandatory for implementations.

The recommendation from the owner/maintainers of the underlying DRDB component is to use something like OpenVPN to protect data at that level of replication communication. However we will consider if there are alternative encryption strategies that might be appropriate.
