Hi! We'd like seeing the split option (-qi) in the FteCreateTransfer command being configured to work in a multi instance queue manager using MFT.
MFT works as expected with a multi-instance queue manager as long as the split option (-qi) is not used with the FteCreateTransfer command. When used, we see the error below:
RC2547
An MQI option is incompatible with reconnectable connections.
This error indicates that the option relies on information in a queue manager that is lost during reconnection. For example, the option MQPMO_LOGICAL_ORDER, requires the queue manager to remember information about logical message ordering that is lost during reconnection.
Is there a chance having this option added so that it works with multi instance queue manager as well?

This particular MFT features makes use of grouped messages to ensure consistency of the transfer. But that option is not compatible with reconnectable clients as information about the groups is held in the queue manager and is not available to the replacement system. This is not something we would expect to solve in the client layers
As a result we are declining this Idea. While declined, the Idea can still be commented, upon.
Great! Thank you as well!
Hi. Thank you for the quick response. I will look into the requirement further.
Hi and thank you for looking into this!
We get the mqrc 2547 at the start of the transfer. We get the error message regardless of whether we are running the fteCreateTransfer on the active or standby queue manager. So none of the multinodes manages to transfer files issuing the command when we have setup MFT to work with out multi instance queue manager.
Hello Magdalena,
Thank you for raising this new idea. I would like get your thoughts on the following question.
When do you get the mqrc 2547 - Is it at the start of the transfer it self or post the fail over of queue manager to a standby instance?
Thank you
