This is an IBM Automation portal for Integration products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

We use LDAP for user authentication (AUTHINFO TYPE(IDPWLDAP)).
We have a global dispatcher URL (CONNAME(global.ad.mycompany.com))
The LDAP server implementation is Windows Active Directory / Domain Controllers. Windows has a built-in feature to find always "the best" (closest / fastest) Domain Controller, so all our Windows Servers use the global dispatcher URL without issues (feature is called "Site Awareness").
We use MQ on Linux, where Site Awareness is not available.
RFE
Please add Site Awareness as feature for MQ.
When we configure a dispatcher URL, such as "global.ad.mycompany.com", MQ should use the fastest Domain Controller for its authentication requests.

MQ makes use of the IBM Directory Server LDAP client for access to generic LDAP capabilities. It has no knowledge of Active Directory-specific features, and this is not something we would imagine adding to MQ, even if it were possible. If Directory Server were ever enhanced to expose this feature then we might consider utilising it.
