MQ Z/OS P.M panel allow preceded asterisk (*) to Suffix search for Objects

To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing to request enhance MQ Display feature. Now Websphere MQ for Z/OS ,P.M Display only support trailing asterisk (*) matches all queues with the specified stem followed by zero or more characters. But in real case, customer used to the suffix as a remote site naming conventions. So we really need a Suffix search. The asterisk ends with a string(e.g., *.BJ' is a suffix for 'LD.to.BJ' or 'NY.to.BJ' ). When use a generic-way seach, it's real like ISPF p.3.4 or SUPERC SRCHFOR. So suffix search is needed just lke prefix search.

    We recognize that this is a valid requirement, and in fact is a good idea. However it doesn't fit with our delivery plans for the next year or so.

    As a result we are declining this idea. While declined the idea can still be voted, and commented, upon. We will retain this idea on our internal backlog for future consideration.

    The z/OS panels are constrained by the underlying services provided by the qmgr. We would like to extend the filtering options within the qmgrs in future, so that all admin tools can exploit them in a consistent fashion.
