This is an IBM Automation portal for Integration products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

We are consumer of outside inbound MQ messages that have CCSID of 1208 on z/OS. We see the messages but had to dump MQ logs in order to see the details of the CCSID setting in the MQMD. This took a lot of digging through logs for persistent messages. The remote business partner had no idea these records were being sent incorrectly. Our own application was unaware that these messages were being sent this way for many months. Is it possible for CCSID 1208 to be convertible by MQ on all OS platforms?

Hello,
CCSID 1208 is UTF-8 and is widely convertable. You can see the set of supported conversions here: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/ibm-mq/9.4?topic=conversion-zos-support.
Your z/OS applications need to use MQGMO_CONVERT, with the target code page, e.g. 37, when doing an MQGET and conversion will be performed by the queue manager.
Feel free to reach out to me at lemingma@uk.ibm.com if you want to discuss further.
Regards, Matt.
