This is an IBM Automation portal for Integration products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

The base MQ product support the creations of objects (like a Process definition) that contain attributes containing special characters. An example will be when you have a CICS transaction starting with a # and you use this as the Application ID in the Process definition. In Explorer all fields are coded to not allow any special character to used in a filter.
This means Explorer filtering is 100% limited when your clients use functions allowed in the base product, but not usable in filters in the MQ administration product. No filtering can be used in Explorer if the attribute contains a special character.

Hi Henry, thanks for the feedback, the Idea is in hand. Regards, Martin Evans (IBM MQ Technical Product Manager).
I agree this is a defect and I opened the case with IBM as a defect. Support told me to close my case and try to get it resolved with an IDEA instead.
