Unplanned failover for native HA CRR without requiring manual intervention.

Hi Team,

Thank you very much for your time, I hope that you're having a lovely year so far.

We are currently testing MQ Native HA and it is working well so far. We have also started implementing CRR, which I understand is intended to simulate a disaster recovery scenario. However, we discovered that in the event of an unplanned failover, the recovery group requires manual intervention to switch from recovery to live. This approach does not seem practical and feels unnecessarily restrictive.

We cannot always guarantee that someone will be available to manually promote the recovery group to Live, which does not seem reasonable. I am wondering whether there are plans in the roadmap to eliminate this manual step and allow the recovery group to automatically promote itself in the event of an unplanned switchover.

Since log replication is asynchronous, I assume that the absence of logs from the Live group could simply indicate that there is no activity flowing through MQ, rather than meaning the HA group has failed. Is there a way to determine whether the Live HA group has actually gone down without relying on additional software? RDQM is not a suitable option for us, as we are planning to move to OpenShift in the near future.

I strongly recommend avoiding any manual intervention in the event of an unplanned switchover, regardless of how that might ultimately be implemented.

Thank you very much!
