This is an IBM Automation portal for Integration products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

The correct product isn't listed in products. The request is about webMethods integration server JDBC adapter. JDBC adapter stores credentials and connection configuration in the files system. This prevents us to use vault for storing the credentials and configuring the environment from one location. This wasn't a big deal in the past but now that we have docker containers, it gets too complicated to configure these JDBC adapter connections.
We need:
A database function to store these credentials, configuration parameters and share them across the cluster.
An offline or a startup update function to update these credentials from vault.
A better documentation for JDBC adapter.
It should still store the latest configuration in file system but it should verify and update at the startup if necessary.

Hi, we are actively working on this in several ways
Configuration variables now allow you to create a common template that can be applied to multiple servers to override default values.
You can always map these two external sources such as deployment maps (k8s) and/or vaults.
In addition to above which has already been delivered, we are actively planning to introduce common templates that can be applied across runtimes as part of our runtime management control plane offered in our IBM webMethods IPaaS.
If you have the Microservices license, you can use Configuration Variables Templates to externalize configuration from the container
