A new Google Pub/Sub Connector Listener capability for the webMethods CloudStreams / Integration product suite.

We request the development of a Google Pub/Sub Connector Listener capability within the webMethods CloudStreams / Integration product suite. This feature is critical for enabling our strategic hybrid cloud initiatives and addressing a significant current scalability challenge.

1. The Problem: Unscalable Cloud-to-On-Premises Data Flow

We are actively bridging our on-premises universal Messaging (UM) Topics with equivalent cloud topics in Google Pub/Sub.

While data transfer from UM (On-Prem) to Pub/Sub (Cloud) is successfully handled by a custom bridge, the reverse direction (Pub/Sub to UM) is proving unscalable:

Current Method: We are forced to use polling (checking Pub/Sub every 5 seconds).

Limitation: This method cannot scale to support our requirements of moving high volumes of data across hundreds of topics in real-time.

2. The Required Solution: Connector Listener

To resolve this, we require a true event-driven solution:

We need a dedicated component that acts as a Google Pub/Sub Connector Listener, functionally equivalent to the existing Salesforce Connector Listener you provide.

This Listener should be capable of using the stream API from Google Pub/Sub, eliminating the need for inefficient polling.

3. Strategic Importance

The successful implementation of this Listener is essential because it directly enables:

Seamless Data Access: Providing our digital teams with easy, reliable, and real-time access to all on-premises data via the cloud.

Application Modernisation: Facilitating the seamless movement of applications to the cloud while maintaining robust, scalable two-way communication with our core on-premises messaging infrastructure (UM).

We understand this requirement is shared by others and is already logged under the following idea ticket: https://ideas.ibm.com/ideas/WEBMCA-I-16.

Google Pub Sub is becoming increasingly popular streaming and having a connector with real time subscription helps many users and gives much flexibility , not only for iPaaS or SaaS users but also helps on-premise users while they transition to latest platforms.

Hi Team, this will be really helpful for our integrations once implemented and will greatly support hybrid cloud message exchange. It can significantly simplify our work.

We are in desperate need for this connector that can stream real time data from GCP Pub Sub data into integration server via the CloudStreams. Would be very helpful if IBM can prioritize this get it delivered ASAP.

    Thanks
