Provide a programmatic way to reload JDBC Adapter metadata without Designer UI

Current Situation:

When a DB column size or schema is modified in the actual database, the JDBC Adapter metadata in webMethods must be manually reloaded through the Designer UI to reflect the changes.

While schema comparison and detection can be handled separately, there is currently no way to trigger the metadata reload programmatically outside of the Designer UI, which creates a bottleneck in operational workflows and causes mismatches in production environments.

Purpose:

To enable metadata reload to be triggered programmatically, so that it can be incorporated as part of an automated or semi-automated operational process without relying on manual Designer UI interaction.

Request:

We would like to request the following improvement:

Provide either of the following:

  • A built-in service within the WmJDBCAdapter package that can be called from a Flow Service to trigger JDBC Adapter metadata reload
  • An Integration Server Admin API endpoint to trigger JDBC Adapter metadata reload programmatically

Expected Benefit:

  • Ability to incorporate metadata reload into automated operational processes
  • Reduction of manual Designer UI dependency for metadata reload
  • Prevention of mismatches between actual DB schema and Adapter metadata in production environments

Environment:

  • Product: webMethods Integration Server / Designer
  • Version: 10.15
  • Adapter: JDBC Adapter
