Transfer Application Ownership in Developer Portal (DPO)

Today an application in the webMethods Developer Portal can only be shared with another user or team. The original owner remains the sole holder of full permissions, so if that person leaves the company the new maintainer cannot:

  • edit credentials or callback URLs
  • subscribe to new APIs or plans
  • change or cancel existing subscriptions

The workaround 'creating a new application, copying keys, and migrating every subscription' causes downtime, breaks audit trails, and is error-prone. IBM Support confirmed in case TS019729974 (02 Jul 2025) that this limitation is “as-designed”.

Due to this reason, we wish a “Transfer ownership” function that moves an application from one user to another, both in the DPO UI and via REST. This will be very useful in B2B scenario.
