Repair annoying UX that expect user (developer) to make lots of clicks

There are muuuultiple places where Integration SaaS UI expects user to interact (click, key strokes, mouse drags, etc) multiple times in order to to simple tasks.

The perfect example (and the first FIX that you should provide) is when user creates new variable (see picture). When the small form pops-up, user must click and drag to select the "Untitled" string in the "Name" field, in order to select it and write new name on top of it. Using keyboard is even worst: user must hit "tab" (because UI doesn't activate the box at display time) which will position the cursor at the end of "Untitled" and will have to:
A.) hit "backspaces" x 8 times (EIGHT!!!), than he can start typing, or B.)  hit "CTRL+SHFT+LEFT ARROW" to select the "Untitled" (and optionaly the BACKSPACE) and only after it, the user can type the name. 

Why not activating the field and select the "Untitled" string at pop-up time? This is an autmation platform. Let's automate some UX steps.
