Host Header Injection on HTTP Downgrading

HTTP downgrading refers to situations where a user's connection is downgraded from a secure HTTPS connection to an insecure HTTP connection, often due to attacks known as SSL stripping or protocol downgrade attacks. This allows an attacker to intercept or manipulate the user's communication with the server. The wM IS or MSR does not verify the Host of the Request, mentioned in the Host header. In case the application is requested over http, for the Login request if the attacker when changes the Host domain to any other domain, for example: ‘example.com’, the user is then redirected to example.com.

Note: The current scenario wherein MSR acting as a server this configuration 'Watt.net.ssl.client.hostnameverification' will not help. As this is applicable when MSR acts as a client.
