Hello,
I have received the customer need several times in the past and now again that MFT shall synchronize the content of one virtual folder to another virtual folder including the whole folder structure. E.g. there is a virtual folder myVFSSourcePath and a file myVFSSourcePath/subPath/file.txt which I want to synchronize to myVFSDestinationPath/subPath/file.txt. Unfortunately even this simple copy step cannot be implemented easily with MFT as the task "Copy" does not use the original path for the destination. This information is lost for the user. Furthermore there is no Server Variable which provides me this dynamic and interesting subPath. There are only Server Variables which are providing the whole real path of the file from which I could try to guess the subPath.
I assume that the feature of a real synchronization of two virtual folders is maybe out of scope for MFT. But it would be a simple and easy workaround at least to provide the "subPath" as Server Variable in order to be able to use "/myVFSDestination/{subPath}" as destination of a task "Copy". Then you can build easily something which is similar like a synchronization.
Kind regards,
Simon
