Add Gateway Service Name as a Filterable Field in Analytics for v5c Type gateway

IBM API Connect Analytics currently provides filtering options based on API, Product, Catalog, Consumer Organization, and other dimensions. However, there is no ability to directly filter analytics data by Gateway Service Name.

In environments where multiple Gateway Services are deployed across different business domains, environments, availability zones, or infrastructure clusters, identifying traffic patterns for a specific Gateway Service becomes challenging. Administrators and support teams must rely on indirect filtering methods or external tooling to isolate traffic.

Adding Gateway Service Name as a standard analytics filter and report dimension would provide the following benefits:

  • Simplified operational troubleshooting and incident investigation.
  • Faster identification of traffic routed through a specific Gateway Service.
  • Improved capacity planning and performance monitoring.
  • Better visibility in multi-gateway deployments where APIs may be distributed across several Gateway Services.
  • Easier migration planning from deprecated gateway technologies such as v5-compatible gateways to API Gateway or Nano Gateway.
  • Enhanced reporting and dashboard creation for platform administrators.

Expected Behaviour

The Analytics UI and Analytics APIs should expose Gateway Service Name as:

  • A selectable filter criterion.
  • A report grouping dimension.
  • An exportable field in analytics data.
  • A searchable attribute when creating custom dashboards and saved reports.

Business Impact

Large enterprises commonly operate multiple Gateway Services across development, test, production, disaster recovery, and regional deployments. Visibility at the Gateway Service level is critical for platform governance, operational support, and infrastructure management. Providing this field would reduce investigation time and improve the overall usability of Analytics for enterprise-scale API Connect deployments.
