SAP Input Node : connection status

A Feature Request for Connection Status Monitoring in the SAP Input Node (IDOC and BAPI):

For administrative and monitoring purposes, it is important to address the following questions:

  • How many connections exist between the message flow with the SAP Input Node and the SAP systems?
  • What is the status of these connections?
  • Are they active or stale?

Thank you for taking the time to raise this enhancement request. We like the idea of giving better diagnostics in this area, but we note that we would only be able to present the number of connections that ACE thinks are being used, because the JCO library itself actually owns the connection. Similar information can also be mined using an SAP transaction query. In terms of the potential external for how we could present this information, one possibility would be to create an ACE Resource Manager for recording and presenting the statistics. Another would be to make a non-CRUD action available on the connector properties through the admin API. For now the status is updated to Future Consideration for gathering of more community feedback.
