ACE Integration with IBM MQ Native HA

Based on case TS021322421, and the clarification provided by App Connect Support indicating that IBM App Connect Enterprise does not currently have official documentation, testing, or support for IBM MQ Native HA, we would like to formally communicate our position and next steps.

Given that:

  • We were explicitly informed in case TS021322421 that ACE has no documented or supported behavior when used with IBM MQ Native HA,

  • There is currently no equivalent guidance to RDQM for failover, reconnect logic, or coordinator behavior,

  • IBM MQ Native HA is positioned as the strategic high-availability option for MQ going forward,

We need to highlight that ACE integration with IBM MQ Native HA is a strategic requirement in our future roadmap.

Our organization is actively planning future ACE architectures where:

  • MQ Native HA will be the standard for queue manager high availability,

  • RDQM is not aligned with our long-term direction,

  • Proper and supported failover behavior between ACE and MQ is mandatory from an operational and risk perspective.

As advised by IBM in this case, we will proceed with opening an Integration Idea to formally request:

  • Official ACE support for IBM MQ Native HA,

  • Behavior parity with RDQM from an ACE perspective (failover, reconnect, coordination),

  • Clear documentation, prerequisites, and best practices.

Once the Integration Idea is created, we will share the Idea ID with the appropriate IBM stakeholders (including Nitin and Phoebe) for visibility and follow-up.

We appreciate the clarification provided in TS021322421, and we want to ensure this requirement is formally tracked and evaluated, as the current lack of documentation and support represents a material gap for our future ACE deployments.

Best regards,
Pedro Q
