Official Certification and Support for Cloudera Impala ODBC Connectivity in IBM App Connect Enterprise

We require official IBM support and stability certification for connecting IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) to Cloudera Impala databases. Currently, we have successfully implemented connectivity by manually installing the Cloudera Impala ODBC Driver (v2.9.0) and integrating it into our ACE custom images. While this manual configuration works, it lacks formal certification from IBM, which is critical for our production stability and long-term supportability. Business Impact / Use Case:
Our integration patterns require fetching high-volume records from Cloudera Impala to drive downstream business processes. Without official certification:

  • We face potential stability risks that cannot be formally addressed by IBM Support.

  • Future ACE Fix Packs may introduce breaking changes for uncertified third-party drivers.

  • Maintenance overhead is increased due to the manual driver injection process.

IBM Support Reference:
This idea is being submitted at the direct suggestion of IBM Support (Case #TS021300626) to move this connectivity from a "best-effort" manual setup to a fully supported product feature.
