Provide an Additional Previous‑Quarter Security‑Only Release Alongside Each New Mod Pack

Our customers are required to perform regular software vulnerability scans and must remediate identified CVEs within a 60–90 day window. Their internal process aligns well with IBM’s monthly security fix pack releases.

However, IBM’s quarterly Modification Pack (Mod Pack) cycle introduces challenges. In the first month of each quarter, a new Mod Pack is released that includes both new features and security patches. Because these Mod Packs contain core code changes, customers cannot apply the security patches immediately without going through a full QA cycle. This delays their ability to meet mandated CVE remediation timelines.

 Problem:

Customers need a way to apply security patches quickly without being forced into a full Mod Pack upgrade cycle that includes functional changes requiring extended QA and planning.

 Proposed Enhancement:

Provide one additional previous‑quarter release that includes only the security patches, delivered alongside the new quarterly Mod Pack. This security‑only release would allow customers to rapidly deploy critical fixes while still having sufficient time to complete QA and plan for the full Mod Pack installation.
