Ensure IBM Bob generates ACE Message Flow files that are 100% Toolkit-compatible and immediately editable

When generating IBM App Connect Enterprise applications using IBM Bob Shell and the ACE skill, the generated .msgflow artifacts are not always compatible with the ACE Toolkit Message Flow Editor.

For example, a generated flow failed to open in ACE Toolkit 13.0.7 with the error:

Feature 'composition' not found

Although the application structure, ESQL, YAML, and other artifacts were created successfully, the generated message flow could not be rendered or edited within ACE Toolkit.
 

This creates several challenges:

  • Developers cannot directly open generated flows.
  • Manual recreation of flows is required.
  • Generated artifacts cannot be validated visually.
  • Confidence in AI-generated ACE assets is reduced.
  • Productivity benefits are partially lost.

Requested Enhancement

IBM Bob should:

  1. Generate only ACE-schema-compliant .msgflow files.
  2. Validate generated flows against the target ACE Toolkit version.
  3. Perform automated compatibility checks before saving artifacts.
  4. Offer version-aware generation (ACE 12.x, 13.x, etc.).
  5. Provide a validation report identifying incompatible elements.
  6. Guarantee that generated message flows can be opened, edited, built, and deployed directly from ACE Toolkit without manual intervention.
