File node enhancements (FileList and FileRename node)

The current file nodes miss a feature for listing and renaming files.

The file nodes should be enhanced that it is possible to make a listing of all files in a specific directory (FileList Node).
Another option would be to enhance the file GetNode to support a browse feature like used in the MQGet node.

With this file list it should be possible to use the FileGet node to select a specific file from the listing and read its data.

Furthermore customers request also the need to rename a specific file (FileRename node) e.g. to trigger another flow on this renamed file. A rename should be possible without reading the whole data as files can be huge (gigabytes).

A combination of the FileList node and the FileRename node is also requested. E.g. make a listing of the files in a directory and pick a specific one for the rename job.

Idea / RFE Review. Apologies for the length of time this request has been held in the status of Uncommitted Candidate / Future Consideration. Whilst this idea has been open a while, we absolutely still acknowledge the validity of the request ... it would be an excellent enhancement for the product to have a TriggeredFileInput node which can periodically execute a file listing, and pass metadata about the files which it finds downstream to the rest of the message flow without actually attempting to read the content of any of the files. This would work nicely in conjunction with a further FileRead node later in the flow. File rename capability (without parsing) would also be a nice addition. Apologies again that these needs haven't quite made it to the top of our prioritizations just yet. We will continue to monitor the popularity of this suggestion for our future releases.
