This is an IBM Automation portal for Integration products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,

ISO 25010 is a quality standard that defines multiple categories of quality. Software metrics have been defined to measure many of these quality categories in different programming languages. In recent years, many new types of flow based software such as BPM or ESB have matured to support the needs for workflow definition and service integration. Existing software metrics have been tailored to measure static quality of procedural or object oriented languages. It is difficult to assess the quality of BPM or ESB flows since there are no metrics available at the flow level. The quality of flows is dictated by the developer preference.

RFE Review. As part of our policy for regularly reassessing aged RFEs we have recently discussed this enhancement request again, and unfortunately on this occasion it has been decided that we won't be taking this idea further forward. Having received only 2 votes over its 8 year lifespan, I'm afraid we are unable to prioritise action on this item at this time. Status of RFE is closed.
RFE Review. Apologies for the length of time this RFE has been in the status of Under Consideration. We like the idea of measuring and reporting flow complexity, and whilst we note that there have only been 2 votes on this long standing RFE, we do think there could be genuine value in this enhancement. Certainly, many of the technical foundations which such a capability would require, would yield benefit for other areas of the product ... in fact some progress in these areas has already been made. The ability to easily examine deployed content in a consistent structural way through the mqsiservice and mqsiextractcomponents commands formed the basis of the transformation advisor capability that went into ACEv11.0.0.7 (which assesses the suitability of deployments when moving to a container based architecture). This technology advance gives us a good basis on which to build further capabilities such as the quality assessment tool being suggested in this RFE. We will continue to monitor this request for its popularity. Meanwhile, the status of this RFE is updated to Uncommitted Candidate.
