SAML support in IIB

The need to support SAML within IIB is critical requirement for customers looking to utilize Microsoft ADFS and Azure cloud offerings.

IIB needs to provide more support of SAML than just as a pass-through mechanism addressing the following:

- IIB is acting as Service provider
- IIB needs to be able to perform validation os SAML assertions internally
- IIB needs to be able to implement SAML holder of key profile

Idea / RFE Review. Apologies for the length of time this idea has been in the status of Uncommitted Candidate / Future Consideration. SAML tokens remain a widely used and strategic standard. We note that frequently ACE tends to prefer call outs to an external STS to authenticate tokens rather than doing things "in-house", so when this gets to the top of the list we will look closely at this aspect. Status is maintained as Future Consideration.

Thank you for raising this RFE. We appreciate that, in particular, for the first "IIB as a Service Provider" use case, having IIB internally capable of validating the SAML token provided by the inbound reequest would add value for these kind of scenarios rather than implementing some kind of call-out from the IIB flow to an external (eg WS-Trust) validation facility. Status of this RFE is updated to Uncommitted Candidate.
