Idea / RFE Review. Apologies for the length of time this idea has been in the status of Uncommitted Candidate / Future Consideration. As noted, when using our graphical data map technology for transforming one data structure into another, you can define local maps and/or submaps which exist in separate map files by highlighting a structured source (not a leaf element) and then selecting the transform type. However, as described in the RFE, if you have already chosen to map a set of leaf nodes in your map, you cannot currently retrospectively "highlight" the created mappings and "copy them in to a submap" in order to avoid having to define them a second time over once you've decided to restructure your map. Although there is the somewhat clunky workaround of applying copy/paste on the map when opened in a text editor, this usability suggestion would certainly improve the product and it's one we'd like to keep on the radar despite it not currently being a business priority for us. Status is maintained as Future Consideration.

Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
    Brand - WebSphere
    Product family - Integration
Product - IBM Integration Bus (WebSphere Message Broker) - IIB

For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
    Brand - WebSphere
Product family - Connectivity and Integration
Product - IBM Integration Bus (WebSphere Message Broker) - IIB

Thank you for raising this requirement. We agree that this would be a good usability enhancement for the product. Status of this RFE is updated to Uncommitted candidate.
