IIB does not observe WSDL hierarchies, it does for XSDs

IIB WSDL Import does not work when multiple WSDL files exist with the same file name for the same Service definition / specification package.

If a user has multiple WSDL files, describing different aspects of a Service, and these WSDL files are located within distinct / unique folders on the users file-system (perfectly valid).

The WSDLs cannot be imported into IIB with all WSDL / XSD file links observed as per the user's own WSDL / XSD repository.

This also means that the user cannot export the WSDL definitions out of the Message Model / Library at a later date and recreate the same structure that was used for import

(note: this was not an issue within Message Broker and the usage of Message Sets prior to IIB v9)

...which means that these IIB objects cannot be used as a packaging mechanism.

RFE Review. Thank you for raising this RFE and apologies for the time period it has been in Submitted Status. Of course we have previously discussed this problem area both in person and over email, and it remains a concern for us. Status of this RFE is update to Uncommitted Candidate.
