IIB Datasource and Datastore to support Application data of IIB monitoring events

We have enabled IIB monitoring events to track the message flow activities. As part of these events, we are emitting application data key fields as well (as simpleContent / complexContent of monitoring event schema).

The events are getting emitted as expected.

But, we have issue where the DataSource and DataStore components of record and replay solution of IIB is ignoring these application data and stores only the common metadata of monitoring events.

Even though there are fields available in DataStore tables to store application data, they are not being used in current version of IIB. Looks like they are defined for future enhancements.

DataSource and DataStore components need to be enhanced to handle the application data segment of monitoring event xmls and store those values into record and replay database.

The user interface of datastore need to be enhanced to display application data as well for better trace ability of business transactions.

RFE Review. We continue to monitor this RFE. Whilst possible to record messages and find relevant ones for rpelay in the Web UI, we acknowledge that this usability enhancement would make things better. Likely implementation would involve additional columns in the database used to store events, and display of these entries in the Web UI fields. Given that these two aspects are essentially separate pieces of implementation for the same use case, we will track both under this RFE. Status of RFE is maintained as Uncommitted Candidate.

For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:

Thank you for taking the time to raise this RFE, and of course for your regular contributions through your IBM account team - we do appreciate the time you invest in providing this feedback. We will be revisiting Record & Replay, and of course Business Transaction Monitoring in later releases of IIB. Status of this RFE is updated to Uncommitted Candidate.
