RFE Review. Apologies we have not yet been able to prioritize the delivery of this enhancement request. Whilst disappointing that this idea has only received one vote over its ~ 5 year existence, this improvement for mqsireportdbparms remains an item we feel could bring additional value to the product. As such we will continue to monitor this RFE for signs of support. Status of the RFE is maintained as Uncommitted Candidate.

As you point out, currently if you issue the mqsisetdbparms command without the -p option then an interactive prompt is used:
C:\Program Files\IBM\IIB\10.0.0.5>mqsisetdbparms TESTNODE_10005 -n TEST -u ben
Enter password for user ID
Retype password for user ID.
BIP8071I: Successful command completion.
By comparison if you execute the equivalent mqsireportdbparms command then the command is rejected:
mqsireportdbparms TESTNODE_10005 -n TEST -u ben
...
BIP8006E: Flag missing. One of the flags in list (p) must be specified.
When using this command interface the user should select all required flags.
Correct and reissue the command.
The suggestion to present an interactive prompt asking for password in preference to the above behaviour sounds like an excellent enhancement for the product. Status of the RFE is updated to Uncommitted Candidate.
