Idea / RFE review. Apologies for the length of time this idea has been in the status of Uncommitted Candidate / Future Consideration. Unfortunately since the time when this request was initially raised, technology in this area has evolved considerably and we no longer see investment in Chef as part of our long term strategic vision - deployment through containers where more effective use of system resources and scale-to-zero become possible are the better way to solve this style of topological deployment problem. Therefore, unfortunately on this occasion we are moving the status of this idea to closed.
