This is an IBM Automation portal for Integration products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Idea Review. As part of our policy for regularly reassessing aged ideas we have recently discussed this enhancement request again. Further to the last comment from 2020, we note that the situation was being investigated through a Service case, which unfortunately we never heard back on after the advice given regarding the setting to "Reset JCo Client after closing Connection Handle", which was also discussed in the last update on the idea. Unfortunately, with no new comments or further signs of support beyond the initial 2 votes from many years ago, on this occasion it has been decided that we won't be taking this idea further forward.
RFE Review. Thank you for taking the time to raise this RFE. We note from our support systems that this RFE was raised whilst the service ticket was still under active investigation. For the benefit of other readers, this related to a BAPI outbound interface from IIB which used a custom BAPI. In the scenario, the SAP system had new fields added to the BAPI, which caused a need for IIB to rediscover the interface and then generate new XSDs (which IIB uses to ensure that the data we generate matches the SAP interface). With the redeployment complete, there is an option to reset the JCo Client after closing a connection handle. This property optionally invokes the reset method on the JCo client to make sure changes on the SAP EIS are reflected in the client during an outbound transaction. Features like this are performance intensive so we dont recommend to have applications deployed with these kind of settings at production environments. Addition or updation of definitions of business objects on SAP side is basically not a very common scenario. When this occurs there is typically a maintenance window during which definitions are reloaded which is typically an accepted practice. Another option in future would be to move towards greater isolation of applications and adapter connections. In general we expect this to be a minority use case, but we will place the RFE in status of Uncommitted Candidate and continue to monitor for signs of popularity.
