Change Load balanced SAP Connection mechanism to utilise different Function Modules from the RFC_READ_TABLES

Recent SAP Support Pack update (NW750 SP22 applied Q4 2021) exposed an issue with mechanism used by IIB to establish load balanced connectivity, through Logon Groups, relying on the RFC_READ_TABLES, (which has proven reliable, to this point).

SAP have provided the below recommendation.

Inform the producer of the external tools (IBM) that they should use the function modules
SMLG_GET_DEFINED_GROUPS
SMLG_GET_DEFINED_SERVERS
... instead of RFC_READ_TABLES.
RFC_READ_TABLES should normally blocked via UCON in your environment because of
several security concerns.

Idea / RFE Review. Thank you for taking the time to raise this enhancement request. We currently use the RFC_READ_TABLE mechanism for load balancing but also for some discovery purposes, so making the suggested change would have relatively wide-ranging consequences for us if we were to go forward with such a redesign. A good suggestion - status is updated to Future Consideration.
