Support for XML Schema 1.1 for IBM AppConnect

One of the largest operators - Polish Energy Networks is implementing a project related to the integration of IT systems of electricity distributors and suppliers in Poland. The design assumptions used the XML Schema (XSD) standard in version 1.1. Examples are available at this link:

https://www.pse.pl/documents/20182/976314471/Zalacznik_nr_5-Schematy_XSD-wersja_5.0_projekt.zip

Many companies in Poland that will participate in this project have the IBM AppConnect product. The lack of support for the XSD standard in version 1.1 may determine the choice of other integration products for this project.

Support for assertions available in XML Schema 1.1 is required. For runtime engine and for ACE Toolkit.

Thank you for the further information - having taken the file ABIE_01.xsd, which we note has the XML schema 1.1 minVersion attribute declaration inside it, and imported into Eclipse Toolkit we note instances of the error "CTDX1100E : XSD: The element 'http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#assert' is not permitted as constrained by 'http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#extensionType'; expecting anyAttribute | annotation | attributeGroup | attribute | sequence | choice | all | group | nothing" due to lack of 1.1 support. The same schema document passes validation in other tools, so the usecase seems reasonable. Whilst not an urgent business priority for us, we acknowledge that in later versions of Toolkit, an upgrade in this area would be helpful ... Status updated to Future Consideration.

    Hi Ben,
The problem occurs when trying to open XSD files in the ACE Toolkit. According to the XSD 1.1 standard, the files contain an assertion that is not supported. An example file is ABIE_01.xsd located in the archive from the link provided earlier.

Idea Review. Thank you for taking the time to raise this enhancement request. Could you please expand upon the use case which you are looking to fulfil with XML schema version 1.1 ... We note the attached schemas on the idea, which do not appear to reference minVersion nor the v1.1 namespace ... so were wondering which specific feature of 1.1 you were hoping for improvement in - import into Toolkit? Runtime validation? Something else? Status of idea is updated to Needs More Information.
